To the east of the public road and to the immediate north of the Duke of Argyll's Monument is a ridge, 8.0m wide, running for 52.0 m. This ridge has a level, 2.0m broad, top and a drop of 0.75m to the east and up to 0.5m to the west. The ridge may be artificial but its location 5.0m back from the edge of the raised beach may suggest that it is an element of that feature.

Known as Iomaire nan Achd ('the statute ridge') it is purported to be the place where Andrew Knox set up court for the assent by nine Gaelic chiefs to the Statutes of Icolmkill in 1609 AD.
