Clyde-Built: A Study of the Clyde Shipbuilding Industry as represented by shipwrecks within the Clyde River and Estuary.

Following an initial desk-based assessment on known shipping losses on the River Clyde and estuary, further research was undertaken on those wrecks which had been identified as Clyde-built.

This wreck has been identified after the recovery of the bell (Moir and Crawford, 2004: 128-129).From the detailed assessment of the position of each wreck it was determined that while a wreck previously thought to be the Carrick lies within the study area, subsequent surveys have recorded the Carrick elsewhere (just beyond the study area) by the recovery of the ships bell, at 55˚ 06.692'N, 005˚10.740' W. The UKHO identify a live wreck in this location. Thus the wreck within the study area is now not thought to be the Carrick, and no other identity has been suggested [...]	28 November 2014
