Scope and Content Late 19th century sketch of Mercat Cross, Cupar, Fife Cupar Mercat Cross was erected in 1897 at the junction of St Catherine Street and Crossgate. This sketch by W F Lyon shows the original cross before it was returned from Hill of Tarvit where it had been taken in 1817. When it was moved in 1987, the unicorn was replaced by a replica.
