Scope and Content Settlement site at Mudhall, Perth and Kinross The remains of this probable Iron Age settlement site are situated on a terrace that runs from Mudhall to Red Brae. The remains were revealed as cropmarks by aerial survey. This is an aerial view of the site. The cropmarks indicating the settlement can be seen running diagonally down the image from the left. The cropmarks indicate the locations of timber round-houses and souterrains. The Statistical Account (1792) records that two souterrains (stone-lined underground passages) were found at Mudhall. These may be represented by these cropmarks. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
