Scope and Content Cairn at Shien Hill, Perth and Kinross This well-preserved cairn stands on the west shoulder of Shien Hill and forms a prominent feature in the landscape. It appears to have at least two phases of construction. This is an aerial view of the cairn. It stands about 4m high and has a modern cairn built on top of it. The original cairn comprises two tiers with a narrow berm between them. The lower tier of the cairn is largely built up from sand. The upper tier, 15.5m across by 2m high, comprises a mixture of stones and small boulders. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
