Scope and Content Nethercommon Carpet Works, No 16 Inchinnan Road, Paisley, Renfrewshire This shows the Abercrombie building from the north-west with Love Street to the right, and Inchinnan Road to the left. The older section of the factory is out of sight to the left. The modern block has a basement as well as the three storeys seen here. The styling is very advanced for the period. By 1971 the complex was in multiple ownership. The 1912 block was occupied by W Lang (Doors) Ltd, a joinery business, and part of the older section was used as a confectionery warehouse. The 1912 building had by 1999 been converted into flats. This works belonged in 1924 to Ronald, Jack & Co Ltd, carpet and rug makers. The buildings which survived in 1971 were in two sections: the older part in Inchinnan Road and the large addition of 1912 in Love Street, designed by T G Abercrombie, then the leading Paisley architect.
