Scope and Content Nethercommon Carpet Works, No 16 Inchinnan Road, Paisley, Renfrewshire This shows the largest section of the older part of the works from the north-west with the gable of the 1912 block at the far end. The rest of the older buildings are out of sight to the left. This three-storeyed range, with its north light glazing, was built as a carpet weaving shop. By 1971 the complex was in multiple ownership. The 1912 block was occupied by W Lang (Doors) Ltd, a joinery business, and part of the older section was used as a confectionery warehouse. The 1912 building had by 1999 been converted into flats. This works belonged in 1924 to Ronald, Jack & Co Ltd, carpet and rug makers. The buildings which survived in 1971 were in two sections: the older part in Inchinnan Road and the large addition of 1912 in Love Street, designed by T G Abercrombie, then the leading Paisley architect.
