Date 1889

Collection Papers of Erskine Beveridge, antiquarian, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland

Scope and Content Newmills bridge, Fife The village of Newmills lies on the south coast of Fife, on the main road between Kincardine and Dunfermline. This photograph shows the village's road bridge, photographed in 1889 by the Victorian photographer, Erskine Beveridge. It was built in the late 18th/early 19th century. This bridge should not be confused with the disused 'old' bridge in Newmills, some fifty metres upstream and crossing the Bluther Burn adjacent to the former mill buildings.
