Scope and Content Joiner's shop, Guisachan, Highland, from north Dating from 1860, this huge courtyard steading was designed by A & W Reid & Mackenzie for Lord Tweedmouth who bought Guisachan estate from William Fraser of Culbokie in 1854. Guisachan House is now a ruin, but the farm, which includes a picturesque dairy, and the model village of Tomich, are still standing. This is the former joiner's shop and dwelling which lies west-south-west of the steading and is seen here from the north. This building was demolished in the early 1990s. It used to stand opposite the saw mill on the road that leads to Guisachan House. The saw mill is in a bad state of repair today. A granite memorial in the shape of a Celtic cross dedicated to Lady Tweedmouth, formally Fanny Spencer-Churchill, stands on the highest point of the present farm estate above Loch Greidlein. There is also a cairn memorial to Michael Waddel who bought Guisachan after World War II. He died in 1960 and is responsible for the wooden boat house built on stilts in the loch.
