Scope and Content Harbour Offices, No 15-16 Regent Quay, Aberdeen These offices were built in 1883-85 for the Aberdeen Harbour Commissioners, to designs by A Marshall Mackenzie, then Aberdeen's leading architect. They were designed primarily to be seen from the vessels entering the Victoria Dock, with a landmark clock tower. This shows the building from the south west, after the demolition of buildings to the west in the interest of road improvement. The north quay of the Victoria Dock is immediately to the right. The offices housed the administrative functions of the Trustees, including the payment of harbour dues. The offices survived the reworking of the street pattern to the north of the Victoria Dock which took place during the 1970s, and are still in use. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
