Scope and Content Henge monument at Belhie, Perth and Kinross The ditch of this small henge was discovered as a cropmark on oblique aerial photographs. The ditch is broad and is broken by an entrance causeway on the SE. This aerial photograph was taken during the excavation. The penannular ditch of the henge is visible in the top right corner of the view. To the SW, the segmented ring-ditch can be seen. This turned out to be an enclosed cremation cemetery. This small henge was situated in a cultivated field to the west of the Ruthven Water. It was excavated in 1988 prior to pan-busting. During the excavation, a pit was discovered outside the henge. This pit contained Beaker sherds. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
