Scope and Content Montage aerial view of development, Hutchesontown-Gorbals Comprehensive Development Area (CDA) Area 'B', Glasgow Hutchesontown-Gorbals CDA, Area B was approved for construction in 1958, by Robert Matthew Johnson Marshall architects. The development includes four point blocks. The project architect was John Paterson, who constructed this montage photograph. This photograph uses a montage of images to give an idea of what the site would look like once the four 18-storeyed point blocks were constructed. The towers stand out dramatically amongst the lower-level buildings around them. This ingenious montage photograph was made by John Paterson by sticking a photograph of a model onto an aerial photograph of the site. Shadows have been added for authenticity. It would have been used in the presentation of the design to the council. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
