Scope and Content Brass Foundry, Nos 30-82 Eastvale Place, Glasgow This large foundry was built for Steven & Struthers, bell and general brass-founders, from 1897. The firm previously had premises in Elliot Street. The first part of the new foundry was designed by Andrew Myles, and additions made in 1903 and 1905 were designed by F Southorn. This shows the western part of the frontage, probably part of the 1897 works. The large arched doorways indicates the size of work that could be made in the foundry. The design of this section recalls that of the firms works in Elliot Street. The block at the end appears to be post-World War I. By 1968 the premises were occupied by London Electric Firm Ltd, electric fittings manufacturers. Most of the buildings were demolished in the 1970s, apart from the post-1918 block seen here, and the site, including this building, is now used as a galvanising works.
