Scope and Content Home Brewery, No 7 Invernairn Street, Glasgow This brewery was founded in 1865 by George Dalrymple & Co, and partly rebuilt in 1897 for Charles Blair to designs by P L Henderson, a noted brewery architect based in Edinburgh. This shows the Invernairn Street frontage of the brewery from the east. As was typical of many smaller breweries, it was built round a courtyard. The dwelling house at the entrance provided security. In the background is part of Parkhead Forge. By 1967 the brewery had been out of production for some time, but had latterly been used as a distribution centre for Maclachlan's Castle Ales. Maclachlans were taken over by Tennents in 1960. This brewery has since been demolished. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
