Scope and Content Atlantic Mills, No 26 Walkinshaw Street, Glasgow This works was built from 1864 for D & J Anderson, shirting manufacturers. It was a large complex of single-, two- and four-storeyed buildings, which were constructed over a long period. This shows part of the complex from the north, with the main four-storeyed range in the centre, and part of a range of 15 bays of single-storeyed, north-lit weaving sheds to the left. The chimney served the boiler house. This firm specialised in the manufacture of high-quality cotton, and mixed cotton and worsted cloths for shirt making. It continued to operate until the early 1960s. The works was demolished between 1967 and 1969. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
