Scope and Content Regent Flour Mills, Bunhouse Road, Glasgow These large roller flour mills were built in 1887-90 for John Ure, miller and flour merchant, to designs by A Watt, architect, of Aberdeen. They replaced a stone-grinding mill of the Incorporation of Bakers. This shows the mills from the north-east. The block on the left was the granary, with the mill to the right. In the angle are a chimney with a staircase wrapped round it, and a later silo for bulk storage of grain. These mills were bought in 1903 by the Scottish Co-operative Wholesale Society, who added a storey to the mill block, and built the silo in this view. They had closed by 1967, and have since been demolished. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
