Scope and Content Boden Street Factory, No 171 Boden Street, Glasgow This was built over the period 1871 to 1907 for Renison, McNab & Co, power-loom cloth manufacturers. Much of the complex consisted of single-storeyed north-lit weaving sheds, but there were also two two-storeyed ranges. This shows part of the frontage to Nuneaton Street, looking north-east. This range of 14 bays of north-lit sheds was probably part of the 1871-2 factory. The even wall-head conceals the ridge and furrow roof. By 1967 this factory was partly used by James Templeton & Co Ltd for carpet weaving, and partly by Alfred Hollins & Co for weaving mixed cotton and woollen cloths under the brand name 'Viyella'.
