Scope and Content Cotton spinning mill, 67-71 Royston Road, Glasgow (Glasgow City council area) This mill was built c1845 for James Clark, cotton spinner. It was of fireproof construction, with brick arches on cast-iron columns and beams, but the two top storeys were rebuilt with concrete floors following a fire. This view shows the building from the south east. Note the masonry construction, unusual for the 1840s in Glasgow. In 1966 it was being used as a bonded warehouse. This building was used for a time as a flax-spinning mill before reuse as a bond. It was demolished in 1968. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
