Scope and Content Tullibardine Distillery, Blackford, Perthshire (Perth and Kinross council area) This distillery was converted from a brewery in 1949 by Delme Evans and CI Barrett for the Tullibardine Distillery Ltd. It was acquired in 1971 by Invergordon Distillers (Holdings) Ltd, who rebuilt it in 1973-4, enlarging it from two to four stills. This view shows the stillhouse, with the two spirit stills on the right, and part of one of the wash stills on the left. The tanks in the background are the wash charger on the left, and the low wines and feints charger, for filling the stills. This distillery now belongs to Burns Stewart and Co plc, who bought it in 1990. It has its own hydro-electric plant and dark grains plant. The vaulted warehouse is one of only two buildings of the kind built in Britain, the other being in Leeds. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
