Scope and Content Glenallachie Distillery, near Aberlour, Banffshire (Moray council area) This distillery was built in 1967-8 by Mackinlay McPherson Ltd, a subsidiary of Scottish and Newcastle Breweries Ltd. It was bought by The Invergordon Distillers Group in 1985, and sold to Campbell Distillers, a Pernod Ricard subsidiary, in 1989. This view shows the distillery from the north, with the main productive buildings in the centre. The simple design, with rendered brick walls, was typical of the period, no attempt being made to evoke earlier styles of distillery construction. Glenallachie has four stills, and appears to be largely in as-built condition. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
