Scope and Content Railway viaduct, Dalmarnock, Glasgow This viaduct was one of two across the Clyde at this point. This is the more modern, built for the Caledonian Railway to handle the additional traffic across the Clyde arising from the opening of the Glasgow Central Railway. This view shows the bridge from the south east. It is a steel structure, on masonry piers. There are brick-arched accommodation spans at each end. When the Glasgow Central Railway was electrified in the 1970s as the Argyle Line this was the viaduct chosen to be retained. By 1979 the girders of the older structure had been removed.
