Scope and Content Gravestone commemorating John and Robert Weir, Whitburn churchyard, West Lothian This face of the gravestone (west) commemorates Robert Weir, who died in 1737, aged 76. The crossbones represent death and human mortality. Examples of bones suspended in a ribbon from rings is a feature of gravestones in Peebles-shire.
