Scope and Content Former Eagle Jute Mills, Victoria Road and Brown Constable Street, Dundee, Angus This large complex was built by Baxter Bros, of the Dens complex, as their foundry and machine shops. In 1930 the single-storey foundry buildings were demolished and replaced by single-storey weaving sheds. This view shows the building from the south west, showing the weaving sheds, with their triumphal corner treatment, and the gable of the spinning block (originally machine-shop, pattern shop and store) on the right. The 1930 reconstruction was undertaken by Low and Bonar to convert the complex into jute mills. It had closed by 1978, and was subsequently converted to multiple use.
