Scope and Content Dressing room, St Johnstone Football Club, Muirton Park, Dunkeld Road, Perth, Perth & Kinross This shows the players' dressing room, with the club's traditional blue and white strips hung on hooks on the wall for each player. The room is also decorated in the team colours, with a physiotherapy bench in the centre. A supermarket now stands on the site of Muirton Park. The frame of the supermarket is painted blue, rather than the company's standard green, in recognition of the former occupants of the site. St Johnstone Football Club was founded in 1884 by members of the St Johnstone Cricket Club at Recreation Park in Perth. Muirton Park was the club's home from 1925 until 1989, when they moved to a new all-seater stadium at McDiarmid Park, on the outskirts of the city. The club's name derives from the old name for the city of Perth, 'St John's Toun'. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
