Collection Papers of Professor John R Hume, economic and industrial historian, Glasgow, Scotland

Catalogue Number SC 516613

Scope and Content Albion Buildings, 56-60 Ingram Street, Glasgow This building was probably built as a speculative warehouse, with shops on the ground floor. It was used for many years as a clothing workshop by Fraser Ross (Glasgow) Ltd. This view shows the building from the south, looking up Albion Street, the view it was designed for. Note the extensive glazing, a characteristic of a number of Glasgow city centre warehouses of the period. This building was converted into flats in 1980, an early Glasgow example of such a change of use. It external appearance is largely unchanged. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
