Scope and Content Hibernian Football Club, Easter Road Stadium, Albion Road, Edinburgh, from north-east Hibernian Football Club, popularly known as 'Hibs' or 'the Hi-bees', was formed in 1875. It moved to the first of its Easter Road sites in 1880 and has remained in the vicinity since. Like many football stadiums in Britain, since 1989, the speed and nature of its development has been driven by the recommendations of the Taylor Report, particularly relating to the need for all-seater stadiums. This shows the stadium with the barriers of the covered north terrace in the bottom right hand corner. In 1982 these were replaced by bench seats, like those in the east stand on the left, as they were cheaper than new barriers. Arthur's Seat stands behind the uncovered south, un-seated, terrace on the far side. In 2002, Hibs are now considering various options to erect a new East Stand, all the others having been renewed since 1994 when this photograph was taken. Facilities at the stadium have also been greatly improved and now include hospitality lounges and boxes. The colours of the stadium reflect the green and white strip worn by the players.
