Scope and Content Glen Mhor Distillery, Inverness, Inverness-shire This was a Scotch Malt Whisky distillery, built by Mackinlays and Birnie, a partnership set up by two of the partners in Charles Mackinlay and Co, whisky blenders. Leith. It was acquired in 1972 by the Distillers' Company Limited. This view shows the distillery from the south east. As can be seen, the buildings were arranged round a courtyard. The three-storey building in the centre was the maltings; the top of the kiln can be seen behind the elevator tower. This distillery and its neighbour Glen Albyn were closed in 1983, and after a period of disuse were demolished. The sit of this one is now covered by a supermarket and its car park.
