Scope and Content Mill of Sandhaven, Sandhaven, Aberdeenshire This was a two-storey and attic water-powered meal mill on an L-plan. with two pairs of stones which were electrically driven in 1976. The waterwheel, the skeleton of which survived, was overshot, and about 0.6 by 3m. This view shows the mill from the north east. Note the large kiln to the right, with its swivelling ventilator, and the similar, smaller ventilator to the left. The waterwheel was on the gable to the left. The mill was still making oatmeal in 1976, and still using the kiln. It has since closed, but has been retained as a preserved example of a very typical Aberdeenshire mill.
