Scope and Content Carding and spinning mill, Glenbuck, Stirling council area This is a two-storey and basement rendered rubble building, with extensions to the side and rear. It was built as a wool-carding and spinning mill but later converted into a factory making electricity meters. This view shows the mill from the north, with the original range to the left. The low building to the right also appears to be part of the original complex. This mill was similar in scale and construction to others in this part of central Scotland. It appears to have been water-powered, from the Allan Water. It may well have been at first a carding mill only, preparing wool for local hand spinners. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
