Scope and Content Mill of Glenbuchat, Aberdeenshire This is a small upland water-powered corn mill, on a rectangular plan, with a detached granary. It was powered by a low-breast paddle wheel 0.71 by 3.66m, driving a single pair of stones. This view shows the underside of the 'funnel' of the corn-drying kiln, made of wood and lined with clay. The firehole of the kiln is on the right-hand side of the base. Wooden kiln funnels were a feature of some of the older Aberdeenshire mills, but were rare by 1976. This mill was in 1976 being used as a barn and garage. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
