Scope and Content Muir Ord Station, Ross and Cromarty, Highland This is a two-platform through station on the line from Inverness to Wick and Thurso, with an additional bay platform for use by trains for the Fortrose branch. The station was rebuilt by The Highland Railway when the Fortrose branch opened. This view shows the main building, which is on the north-bound platform, close to the bay platform for branch-line trains. It is a single-storey rendered building with a full-length awning and glazed end screens. This station was closed to passengers by 1976, but has since reopened as an unstaffed halt.
