Scope and Content Lairg Station, Sutherland, Highland This is a two-platform through station, on a passing loop on the Sutherland Railway. The main offices are in an L-plan one-storey and attic building, with two single-storey wings, on the south- bound side. This view shows the main station building, on the Inverness-bound platform. The low platform edge has at this point been removed, and raised to normal height further along, hence the white railing in this view. This station had in 1976 a lattice-girder footbridge of c1900, a signal box, a level crossing, a timber goods shed and a free-standing wooden gentlemen's lavatory.
