Date 29/5/1976

Collection Papers of Professor John R Hume, economic and industrial historian, Glasgow, Scotland

Catalogue Number SC 498637

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content Forsinard Station, Sutherland, Highland This is a two-platform through station, on a passing loop on the Sutherland and Caithness Railway. In 1976 it was little changed since its opening, with its original low platforms and level crossing for passengers. This view shows the main station building, on the Inverness-bound platform, and incorporating the agent's house. This station is situated in Strath Halladale, a sparsely populated area, hence the minimal change to this station since 1874. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
