Scope and Content Forsinard Station, Sutherland, Highland This is a two-platform through station, on a passing loop on the Sutherland and Caithness Railway. In 1976 it was little changed since its opening, with its original low platforms and level crossing for passengers. This view shows the shelter on the Wick and Thurso-bound platform, with two of the portable steps provided for passengers joining or leaving the train at the low platform. This station is situated in Strath Halladale, a sparsely populated area, hence the minimal change to this station since 1874. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
