Scope and Content Suspension bridge over river Dionard near Drochaid Mor, Highland This is an unusual private suspension footbridge, with timber pylons wire-rope cables and rod suspenders. The deck is made of wooden slats. This view shows the bridge from the east, looking along the deck. Note the substantial tree-trunks which form the pylons. There are two short spans at the far end of the bridge, as well as the main river span. Bridges of this type are not unusual in the highlands, but this one is unusual in the quality of its construction and in the fact that it has three spans. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
