Scope and Content Former Appin Station, Argyll and Bute This station was opened in 1903 by the Caledonian Railway as part of a branch from the Callander and Oban Railway at Connel. The stations on the line were in an English Arts and Crafts style. This view shows the road frontage of the station, The agent's house was on the upper floor of the two-storey building. Note the neat shelter on the Ballachulish-bound platform. The railway closed in 1966. These buildings were disused I 1976, though the surrounding ground was a Council yard.
