Scope and Content Taynuilt Station, Argyll This station was completed in 1879 and opened in 1880 by the Callander and Oban Railway. It is a two-platform through station, with a passing loop. The main building is on the Oban-bound platform, and there was a shelter on the other. This view shows the passenger accommodation on the Glasgow-bound platform. This consisted of a small T-plan waiting room, with a lavatory for gentlemen on its west side. This building was demolished in the late 1970s. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
