Scope and Content Mill, Finstown, Orkney This is a two-storey water-powered corn mill, rubble-built, on an L-plan, driven by an overshot wheel, 1.22 by 4.27m, with a concrete launder carried on stone piers. This view shows the mill from the south east. The main mill range is ion the left, with the kiln in the taller section on the right. The wheel house is on the far gable of the mill range. By 1976 the mill was disused, but apparently intact. It was still disused in 1998. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
