Scope and Content Leval Engineering, Dalquhurn, Renton, Dunbartonshire This small sheet-metal-working works was in part of the Dalquhurn Printworks, founded in 1715 as a bleachworks, and developed as a calico printing works during the 19th century. It closed in 1937, was used by the War Dept 1939-45 and then sublet. This is a general view of the interior of the single-storey building occupied by Leval Engineering. Its purpose as part of the calico-printing works is not clear. Leval Engineering was being wound up as a concern in 1975, and its equipment sold. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
