Scope and Content Former station, Burntisland, Fife This station was the original southern terminus of the Edinburgh & Northern Railway, with a ferry connection with Edinburgh via the port of Granton. It was bypassed in 1890 by the opening of the Forth Bridge Railway, with a new station to the north This view shows the front of the 1847 station, which was probably designed by David Bell, architect. There was a train shed behind this frontage, now demolished. The building is now used as offices. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
