Scope and Content Lochgelly Station This station was opened by the Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee Railway, as part of their line from Thornton Junction to Crossgates (1848) and Dunfermline (1849). The original small single-storey station was later extended. This view shows the main station from the approach road, with the original building clearly visible. The end of the later platform awning can be seen to the left. These buildings have since been demolished and replaced by a modern station. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
