Scope and Content Cast-iron bridge, Cambus Distillery Cambus Distillery was founded in 1806, and this bridge was probably built in connection with the operation of the distillery, which was one of the largest in Scotland. The bridge is single-span, with four lattice ribs, plain railings and a wooden deck. This view shows the setting of the bridge in the context of the distillery, and the slenderness of its construction. From its reflection you can see that some of the deck timbers had gone; it has since been repaired. This is one of the oldest cast-iron arch bridges in Scotland.
