Scope and Content Steel-truss road bridge, Mary Bridge/Clackmannan Bridge, Bridge End, near Cambus, Clackmannan This is a steel single-span bridge, with a heavy N-truss supported on masonry abutments. These have massive castellated superstructures with mock arrowslits, probably a reference to the medieval bridge which this one replaced. This view shows the bridge from the south west. The unusually heavy appearance is striking. This bridge has been bypassed by a new bridge slightly to the north. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
