Scope and Content Broadford Works, Maberly Street, Aberdeen This is a large complex of linen mills and associated buildings. The oldest appears to be a four-storey and attic spinning mill, with a bellcote on the front gable. This view shows the old spinning mill in the centre, with a later brick stair and water tower. This is the last of Aberdeen's large textile mills to remain in operation The city had in the early 19th century several large cotton-spinning mills, bur these did not survive competition from Glasgow and Lancashire later in the century.
