Scope and Content Milanda Bakery, (Victoria Bread and Biscuit Works), 30 Wesleyan St, Glasgow This was an early machine bread- and biscuit making bakery in Glasgow, founded by John McFarlane & Sons. It was extended in 1886 and 1895 to become a large four and five-storey complex, built of red brick. This view shows racks containing trays of finished Scotch mutton pies which have been baked in one of the continuous ovens of the bakery. The bakery was, by 1974, operated as a Milanda bakery. It closed shortly after, and was quickly demolished. The site has since been redeveloped for housing. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
