Scope and Content Scotstoun Mills, Thurso Street, Partick, Glasgow The Scotstoun mills are on an old site, but the buildings seen here were built from 1877 as a roller flour mill, at a time when stone-grinding of flour was being rapidly eliminated. This view shows the mills from the south east. The building on the right was built in 1898, and the one in the middle in 1909 The flat-roofed store behind the 1898 block was built on top of a former horse-tram depot after 1901. This mill was re-equipped in the early 1970s, when a new milling range was added (on the left in this view). It is now the only grain mill operating in Glasgow. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
