Collection Papers of Professor John R Hume, economic and industrial historian, Glasgow, Scotland

Scope and Content Converted windmill, Bridgeness, West Lothian This is a circular rendered tower, modified for domestic use by the addition of an external circular stair tower and a crenellated parapet with mock machicolations. The core is believed to have been a pumping windmill. This view shows the tower from the east, showing how effectively baronial it had become. The building was disused in 1974, but it has since been refurbished. as a house. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
