Scope and Content Annan Station, Dumfriesshire This station was opened in 1848 by the Glasgow, Dumfries & Carlisle Railway. The main building, on the Carlisle-bound platform, is two-storey, in an open-eaved Italianate style, with a later platform awning. this view shows the station from the rail side, looking east. The chimneys of the original station building can be seen above the later awning. The original station is now a bar/restaurant. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
