Scope and Content Annan Station, Dumfriesshire This station was opened in 1848 by the Glasgow, Dumfries & Carlisle Railway. The main building, on the Carlisle-bound platform, is two-storey, in an open-eaved Italianate style, with a later platform awning. this view shows the main building from the street, with part of the later awning to the right. This part of the station is now a bar/restaurant. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
