Scope and Content Windmill stump, Cannee, near Kirkcudbright, Kirkcudbrightshire This very unusual circular-section building is said to have been built as a wind-powered cider mill. This view shows the unorthodox appearance of the building. It is very difficult to decipher how it might have worked. Note that it was certainly in part a doocot, as the flight holes between the first and second storeys show. If indeed this was a cider mill it would be the only one in Scotland.
